Bertone: 6 prototypes sold at auction by RM Auctions Villa d'Este

Bertone RM Auctions sold at auction some of its most important concept car at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The transaction, which has so divided the collection of the Italian company in financial difficulties, has given fans the chance to put some pieces in the garage who made the history of design.

The record went to the Lamborghini Marzal, eccentric 4 places with gull-wing doors, which anticipated the lines of Espada in 1967: it was sold for 1,512,000 Euros. In second place, with a value lower than expected, came the Lancia Stratos Zero prototype based Fulvia HF 1970 which enabled Bertone to propose after the successful project Stratos: the price paid was 761,600 euros, well below the initial assessment between 1 and 1.8 million.

Third place for the unexpected Lamborghini Bravo 1974, derived from Urraco prototype initially undervalued and sold for 588,000 euros, followed by the Lamborghini Athon 1980, changed hands for 347,200 Euros and is derived from Silhouette. Well below the estimates of Testudo 1963 Chevrolet also born on a Chevrolet Corvair, sold for 366,000 Euro 800,000 Euro against the hypothesized Hiss and the Spear of 1978, was auctioned for 95,200 euros and in line with the initial estimate: the Hiss was born on the same basic mechanics of the Stratos with a longer wheelbase of 10 inches.
