International journalists, engineers and designers at the Challenge Bibendum in Berlin (18 - 22 .5.2011) chosen the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid as the winner of the Design Award in the category of production cars with internal combustion engine. It was not the only success for the Swedish car manufacturer in the event organized by Michelin to sustainable mobility.
The Volvo C30 Electric started in a race to Berlin Linthe over 120 kilometers, only battery-powered vehicles was reserved and contained numerous special assessments, and finished at the end - along with two other vehicles - number one. The Volvo V50 Drive took in the 300-kilometer-long inter-city rally for production cars.
On the trail with time trials, handling, braking and acceleration rating were 36 vehicles in four classes at the start. The V50 came at the end third. In this race, the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid was also recognized for its excellent acceleration (0 to 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds). He is on the market in 2012, up to 50 kilometers can cover all-electric and a standard average consumption of only 1.9 liters of diesel per 100 kilometer.
