New photos and specifications for the Chevrolet Aveo last generation car, built on an entirely new platform derived from GM will be offered on the market in our body variants hatchback 5-door sedan and 4. The Aveo replaces the Daewoo Kalos, Chevrolet Aveo renamed in 2004 when it relaunched its range in Europe belonging to the Korean brand acquired by GM in 2002.
In a few years old Korean range has been completely replaced with new "global" project, designed by international teams to be sold throughout the world, then came Spark, Cruze, Captiva and Orlando. Vehicles that have allowed the American brand to reach nearly half a million cars sold in Europe (from 251,000 at the time of acquisition), from a market share of 1.2% to 2.5%.
By Nov. 3, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet, will be marketed Camaro, Corvette Grand Sport and Volt. The brand has a lot on the Aveo in terms of trade: in fact it will go to battle in a segment, the B, which in Europe is worth 21.3% of the market (the segment found), while in our country to climb to 34%.
No coincidence that sales of the old Chevy Aveo accounted for approximately 23% of the total. The new car measuring 4,039 meters in length (the 4399 sedan), 12 inches longer than the old series, is 1735 m wide (+5 cm), with a 1517 high of 2525 meters distance. Numbers that make the cars with the largest footprint in its class.
The generous cargo space with both versions of the hatchback that has a volume of 290 liters (653 in rear seats folded back) and the sedan that comes even to 503 liters. The Aveo range, present in the Italian dealers from June 6, is organized around three to four-cylinder petrol engines: two engines and 1,200 cc 70 1400 cc 86 hp and 100 hp, available only with automatic transmission.
During the year, proposals will also be a diesel variant, with a 1.3 95 bhp, and the bi-fuel with LPG. The turbodiesel is also available in ECO, with Stop & Start technology and capable of emitting just 99g/km. I have tested 1.2 engine made of aluminum and distribution chain: the less powerful (70 hp) ensures 115 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
With manual transmission touches a maximum speed of 162 km / h, acceleration 0-100 km / h in 14.3 seconds. Consumption are reported in the combined cycle of 5.9 litres/100km, while emissions of 138 g / km of CO2 (€ 5). The unit most handsome, the most sold, guarantees the same 115 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
But the performances are lively maximum speed of 171 km / h and acceleration 0-100 km / h in 13.4 seconds. The fuel consumption in combined cycle of 5.5 litres/100km are, while emissions of 129 g / km of CO2 (€ 5). The engine of 1400 cc delivers 130 Nm at 4000 rpm instead: the top speed is 175 km / h with a 0-100 covered in 13.1 seconds.
The average consumption stated, conditioned by the mandatory presence of the automatic transmission, is of 6.8 liters / 100 km, while emissions amounted to 159 g / km (Euro 5). The engine range consists of 3 versions, LS, LT and LTZ: the first, matched only 1 .2 70 bhp and is not equipped with air conditioning (800 euro), or alloy wheels 15 "and has a power steering as hydraulically.
Also missing are the on-board computer, the package smokers, adjustable seat height, USB and Bluetooth and steering wheel audio controls and a number of finishes for some portions of the body. The set LT, available only with the 86 hp version instead includes everything listed above as well as electric power steering and has a price of 12,250 € (400 € more for the sedan).
The LTZ version, the richest includes more rear electric windows, electric mirrors and heated seats, alloy wheels 16 ", and a richer sound.
