EuroNCAP: rain of stars in crash tests

Excellent results from the last session of the EuroNCAP crash test for the latest cars launched on the market from Europe and Japan. For the first time an electric car, Nissan Leaf, wins the highest score made by placing one of the safest cars in the world. Among the compact C-segment is still unequaled benchmark of 97% in adult occupant protection and Juliet Golf, but none of the new aggressive competitors lets out the 5 stars of "overall score" excellent values in tests.

The new Ford Focus, which has already created havoc with competitors in offering excellent value for money and a modern technology, do not bat an eyelid examination EuroNCAP, taking home a good 92% of occupant protection and better 72% on impact with the pedestrian. It's still better than the Lexus CT200h, who earns 94% in the percentage of adult protection and a less impressive 55% in the protection of pedestrians in case of investment.

The sophisticated Citroen DS4 performs the test with ease, it takes 90% for occupant protection and a high 97% for evaluation of safety equipment. But she sins in pedestrian protection, with an unflattering 43%. Similar results for the relative Peugeot 508, Fill that 90% and 97% for adult protection and safety equipment, but is even more dangerous for pedestrians (41%), and excels in the protection of children on board, with a 87% setting new standards not only for its segment.

But the car proves to be safer from a Volvo tradition: the new V60 reaches a rating of 94% protection in adults, children 82%, 64% pedestrians. Values of absolute reference, but not the best ever. While for the first time won a perfect score, 100%, and is the voice security equipment. A sign that today, on the market, there is no car with driver assistance devices and mitigation of impacts as advanced as the Volvo V60.
