BMW Trespass for China

BMW will present at the end of this year a hybrid version of its 5 Series sedan, which is the version 5 series ActiveHybrid concept, but apart from that, according to new revelations reported by Automotive News Europe, the German manufacturer is also working on developing an electrical model 100 percent based on the same platform and designed specifically for the Chinese market.

The news is the Chinese newspaper Beijing Youth Daily wrote that in fact that BMW is working with its Chinese partner Brilliance China Automotive Holdings for the construction of a new electric vehicle based precisely on the 5 Series. BMW and Brilliance are linked by a joint venture with the result that plant in Shenyang, in northeast China, have produced both the sedan 5 Series and 3 Series, is a long-wheelbase variant.

The newspaper also reported that a concept that anticipates the new electric car will be presented later this year at one of the most important auto shows planned in China. According to the newspaper group in the Chinese market in 2011 will introduce at least three new models: the BMW X3, BMW 6 Series and the Mini Countryman.
