In the U.S., the next generation of the Volkswagen Golf VII will be launched within two years, as confirmed by a spokesman for Volkswagen. According to leaks, the vehicle will go into production in late 2012 and early 2013, while the debut is expected in November next year. The platform will be built on what is already well under way and will come exactly 10 years after the launch of the current one, which formed the basis of the Golf V and VI, and was born in 2003.
The Golf VII will be constructed to cross the floor named "MQB", which begins a few months before the "sister" Audi A3 and show its versatility: it can be lengthened, shortened and broadened as a sort of accordion that can be used on virtually every type of mid-range vehicle, two-or four-wheel drive.
The Golf VII will probably be sold in convertible version, while the E-Motion Blue electric version will be available in 2014. In any case, the lines and specifications will be influenced by those of the new Jetta and Scirocco.
