Fiat Freemont: 7 seats and a little 'sport

Fiat has released the first official pictures and specifications of Fremont, the new MPV House of Turin to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, scheduled in March. This is the twin of the Dodge JourneyModel Year 2011 which, in the second half, will replace the now elderly Ulysse. The Freemont Fiat is the first model of the alliance with Chrysler and is manufactured at Toluca's Mexican, where he assembled the 500 the same for the USA.

The new crossover Fiat is 489 cm long, 188 cm wide and 172 cm high, while the wheelbase measures 289 cm. At the time of launch, the Fiat Freemont engines will be offered with 2.0 MultiJet 140 bhp and 170 bhp, coupled with front-wheel drive and manual transmission. Later, the car will be also available in a 4x4-wheel drive with the engine 2.0 MultiJet 170 bhp and 3.6 V6 petrol 276 hp, combined with the automatic transmission.

Fiat Freemont be distinguished from the Dodge Journey to the LED taillights, new front and rear bumpers and the interior modified with soft touch materials, chrome accents and a radio with a color touch screen. The range will be available in two trim levels and standard equipment will include the basic three-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry system, cruise control, trip computer advanced TMPS system tire pressure monitoring, fog lights and steering wheel controls for radio.

Instead, the exhibition will also include top 17-inch alloy wheels, car touch screen with 8.4 inch screen, DVD player and SD card, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors, folding mirrors, automatic headlights, glass and tinted rear roof bars.
