2011 Volkswagen Jetta: starting from 20,850 €

The new Volkswagen Jetta debuted in recent days on the Italian market. For the updated version of the sedan Ingolstadt, characterized by a longer wheelbase (2.65 meters) and a new stylistic approach, the prices at launch start at € 20,850. The most important difference compared to the previous series, resides mainly nell'inedita front, characterized by a family feeling with the other models in Ingolstadt, decided under the current styling by Walter De Silva.

In particular, we note the grille to its glossy black finish, which "accompanies" the lights shaped like a trapezoid. The trend is also noticeable from a horizontal chrome strip that divides the two sections of the lights, top and bottom. Even the dimensions are different: the length of the car body (increased to 4.64 meters) was determined to comfortably accommodate five people, and places the Jetta model year 2011, halfway between the Golf, which measures 4.20 meters, and the Passat (4.77 meter).

Definitely too large boot, which offers 510 liters of capacity. The range of engines for Italy at the time of launch, it consists of a petrol version and a turbo diesel, both "BlueMotion Technology. The first is the 1.2 TSI 105 hp BlueMotion brought in € 20,850 in Trendline version. The diesel version is the 1.6 TDI BlueMotion, which is also 105 hp, also available with DSG double-clutch 7-speed.

The price for the models 1.6 TDI Trendline is 24,000 and € 25,800 (the latter refers to the version equipped with the DSG). The exhibition "base" Trendline includes: six airbags (eight on request), Isofix mounting system for children, daytime running lights, ESP with service counter steering and trailer stabilization, ABS with Brake Assist, ASR, locking EDS Electronic Differential and MSR device for adjusting the torque being released.

Outside, the Trendline is equipped with 205 tires mounted on 16 "wheels, heated mirrors and adjustable power-operated with integral indicators. Arranged in intermediate Comfortline, the package of standard equipment includes: front center armrest adjustable with storage compartment, air conditioning system "Climatic", fog lamps with cornering light, 12V socket in luggage compartment, ESP, ABS with Brake Assist, audio system with CD player and MP3, Cruise Control, Start-Stop system with kinetic energy recovery system during braking.
