Aston Martin DB9 Coupe Touchtronic: details that count

The style of the original date 2003, not long ago but enough to have generated in the meantime, the sport and the little DBS Vantage, but also for inspiring the superberlina Rapide. This last has prompted a small but significant changes in the front (the classic grid superimposed on the two grids) that deserved to be extended to the parent DB9.

Other minor adjustments relate to the profile of the rear shield el'accentuazione a line from the sill up along the rear wheelhouse: details that stand out but not enough to bring up the "new" more modern DB9. Although the carrier did not notice major changes and this is part of the strategy to improve without change; mention only a few finishing processing dictated by the craftsmen builders and updating equipment with the Bang & Olufsen audio system as well as an original finish panels embossed aluminum.

We find the taste of a fine coach and fast rather than aggressive. The thrust of the V12 is as fluid as to reduce the use of the gearbox (manual or automatic sequential Touchtronic, both 6-speed) as a mere whim. We note, however, the refinement of the driving characteristics obtained by transferring DB9 on the technical progress made with the development of DBS and the Rapide: more precise steering system and suspension with electronically controlled variable damping.

The result is the most important currency in terms of driving refinement rather than in improving the keeping and handling, which is hardly noticeable on the road. With a bit short 'summary, the new DB9 adds to the personality of a sporty touch base that gives the feeling of the purest coaches without regret the sportiness of the DBS.

We are definitely at the top of the segment, with € 178,495. A remarkable figure, but given the aura surrounding the former James Bond car, maybe even sales could decline if it cost less.
