Fiat Freemont: confirmed in Geneva

As it was announced that Chrysler Group will unveil in Geneva (3-13 March), the new Fremont that will be sold in the second half of this year with the Fiat brand and will be built in Toluca, Mexico. Based on the Dodge Journey is the first Fiat result of collaboration with the American group. Clearly is aimed at those looking for a spacious vehicle, for the family is 489 cm long, 188 wide with a height of 172 cm and a wheelbase of 289 cm, measurements that translate into a great interior space, seven seats standard with a third row of seats which can be accessed easily by opening the door to 90 degrees and can be killed disappearing under the floor to create a large compartment of up to 1,461 liters capacity.

For the second row is expected the new "child booster seats for children who can correctly with booster cushions for added protection and convenience. Completely renovated the interior with spacious seating and ergonomic, soft touch materials and a dashboard that integrates a new instrumentation.

Two specifications, both with 7 seats, which offer different levels of equipment. For both three-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, advanced trip computer, tire pressure monitoring system (TMPS), fog lights and a radio with touch screen color display and steering wheel controls.

In more urban version will join the 17-inch alloy wheels, radio with touch screen display, 8.4 ", DVD player and SD card, bluetooth, rear parking sensors, automatic switching of headlamps, rear glass obscured and the bars on the roof. The Freemont, who has front-wheel drive, will be equipped with turbodiesel 2.0 Multijet 140 or 170 horsepower, mated to a manual transmission.

In later versions will be offered also 4x4 2.0 Multijet engine with 170 hp and 3.6 V6 petrol 276 hp, both with automatic transmission. Except for the 3.6-liter engine family Pentastar Chrysler Group and its automatic transmission, all other engines are produced and developed by FPT-Fiat Powertrain.

Safety: thirst airbags, ABS and Brake Assist, ESP with Hill Holder-and anti-tilt system, all standard.
