New Kia Picanto: improved even within

Waiting to show the general public at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March), the new generation of Kia Picanto are revealed on the net a little 'showing at a time, after the first two photos of the exterior, the new interior which brings with practical design solutions and very compelling. Fruit of the pencil of Peter Schreyer, the new generation of Kia supermini replaces the previous edition, after seven years, by adopting the new style of Korean house solutions that have made the fortune of the latest models as they come, Sportage and Sorento.

Despite its compact size by "segment" and a list price that the Kia insured has been very competitive, the solutions for the interior of the Picanto are super quality. The dashboard shows a stylistic trend "V" and is characterized by the center console, with a hexagonal shape to the end that incorporates the controls for the audio and those of the automatic air conditioning.

Very original steering wheel marked by only two races that include the commands of the speaker and hi-fi, while the instrumentation is divided into three circular shaped sport that provide all the relevant data to guide. The choice of engines will be limited at first only two choices: the entry-level engine is represented by the compact three-cylinder 1.0 liter gasoline, even declined in the bi-fuel, ie gasoline or LPG.

This engine develops a maximum output of 69 hp and maximum torque of 94 Nm, while the CO2 emissions amounted to a value of 95 g / km. For those seeking a bit 'more spirited and uses the car for trips outside the city will also thers the 1.2 petrol 85 hp and 121 torque Nmdi emits, compared to the "thousand", something more in terms of emissions: 105 g / km of CO2.

Both engines can be mated to a five-speed manual or, alternatively, to a four-speed automatic features. Following the 1.0 engine will be offered in two power steps: the first will have 80 hp and the second, with a turbo, will be up to 110 hp, while not yet confirmed the presence of the 1.1 CRDi diesel 75 bhp.

The new Kia Picanto will debut on the Italian market next summer, while the official price lists for our country have not yet been disclosed, but according to rumors should start from a base of 7,000 €.
