The future of the Chrysler Group will be room for two pick-up compact with the Jeep and Dodge brands. The newspaper reports the Detroit News, "which specifies that the brand will be used only for the Ram pickup and large commercial vehicles derived from Fiat Professional, including the Duchy and the U.S.should be marketed as a replacement and Tradesman the Dodge Sprinter. The two new compact pick-up will be the new Dodge Dakota and the production version of the Jeep Gladiator. The latter was presented as a concept car at Detroit Motor Show 2005. The two vehicles will have a single cabin and the load capacity reduced to save energy within the canons of 30 mpg or 12 km per liter.
The new Dodge Dakota and Jeep Gladiator will adopt a series of piattaformadi origineFiat, with monocoque frame. The Gladiator will be the pick-up variant of the Wrangler off-road, which also share the Pentastar engines 3.6 V6 petrol and 3.0 V6 CRD diesel. It is not excluded, therefore, any export of the Jeep Gladiator to European markets.
