Chrysler: 2010 results beyond expectations

The echo arrives from New York, where the CEO of Chrysler Sergio Marchionne said the economic results achieved by the American Chrysler. "They were better than expectations - Marchionne said with evident satisfaction." But there is still much work to do, especially to reach the five-year goals that the group has set itself an Italian-American.

Chrysler ended 2010 with 41.9 billion dollars in revenues, operating profit of 763 million dollars and losses of $ 652 million. The forecasts for 2011 see the growth in total revenues to approximately $ 55 billion. These figures summarize the sales of more than 1.5 million cars, representing 9.2% of the conquest of the American market and 13% of that of Canada.

If in 2010 were launched 16 new models, not least is the 2011, thanks to new projects with Fiat. Remain in the air the premonitions of Marchionne, who had very difficult times declared its intention to reach 6 million vehicles sold. The minimum for survival. Today's figures tell us of 3,660,000 units sold by Chrysler throughout 2010: slightly more than 2 million by approximately 1.6 million and Fiat sold for Chrysler.

The goal of 2011 (to get to the fateful 6 million in 2014) is 4.2 million cars sold, divided between 2.2000000 to 2.3000000 per unit of Fiat and 2 million for Chrysler. Tough undertaking, which is the launch pad on the upcoming Chrysler-Lancia (300-Thema, Flavia and the 200-MPV), Fiat and Lancia Ypsilon Freemont 5 door.

In short, the challenge started from near Geneva.
