Toyota FT-86 II: the first teaser of the new coup

Pending the official launch date for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show (3-13 March), Toyota released the first teaser of the FT-86 II, rear-drive coupe that will take the post left vacant by the Celica, leaving the scene in 2005 after seven generations produced in 35-year career. FT-86 derived from the concept presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009, the Japanese sporting future is little more than four meters and shares many components with the upcoming rear-drive coupe Subaru signed, also in the odor of official submission to the festival Switzerland.

The first element in common is the platform used by the two dall'inedito coupé, while engines will be the powerful Subaru boxer derivation: it is about a 2.0 liter petrol engine capable of 200 bhp and a powerful 2.5-liter supercharged 260 bhp. Both engines probably also equips the "twin" Subaru.

So the major differences between the two sports are likely to be only aesthetic. The only image available to us glimpse dimly the front of the car, which seems to differ stylistically from the concept presented in Tokyo. In particular, it can be seen from the muzzle sloping shape and characterized by two thin headlamps that join with the mask center, forming a pattern with "V".

Looking forward to being able to see live at the major event in Switzerland, we have to wait for more information or unpublished images by the House of the three ellipses.
