Renault-Nissan Alliance sold over 7.2 million vehicles

The Renault-Nissan Alliance has bought 7,276,398 vehicles worldwide by 2010 v and thus reached a new record. This result represents an increase of 19.6 percent, while the overall global market increased by 11.8 percent. The world market share of Renault-Nissan Alliance is now 10.3 percent (cars and light trucks).

Renault took off last year 2,625,796 units. Nissan 4,080,588 cars. Sales of Renault rose by 14 percent and Nissan by 21.5 percent. On Lada accounted for 570 014 units, representing an increase of 37.6 percent over the previous year. The market share of Renault and Lada in Russia was composed almost 33 percent.

Sales of the Renault group represented a new record and an increase of 14 percent compared to 2009. In all five regions of the world, the Group increase sales and market share declined with the exception of the Euromed region, where sales marginally by 0.2 percentage points. All brands contributed to the overall success of Renault increased 14 percent, 12 percent Dacia and Renault Samsung Motors by 19 percent.

In Europe, Renault group increased its sales by 7.4 percent to 1.642 million units, while the overall market declined by 3.7 percent. The Renault climbed one place to second in cumulative sales of passenger cars and light trucks. As light trucks alone claimed Renault's number 1 position with a market share of 15.9 percent.

Outside Europe, the Group continued its upward trend with an increase of 26 percent to 983 731 units. The passenger car sales rose by Renault Samsung Motors in the domestic market in South Korea by 16.5 percent, where the brand has captured a share of 11.9 percent of the total market. With 155 697 units is South Korea's fourth largest market in the world for the Renault group.

Sales of the Renault group outside of Europe rose to 37 percent, in 2009 the figure was 34 percent. Nissan closed 2010 with record results on 4,080,588 units sold, an increase of 21.5 percent over the previous year. China has become the main market for the brand. The company sat there with 1,023,638 units, 35.5 percent more vehicles than in 2009.

Top-selling model, the midsize sedan with 142 367 units Sylphy, Teana followed by the top model with 140 842 units. Sold in the U.S. Nissan and Infiniti in total 908 570 units, 18 percent more than in 2009. In Japan, government grants and contributed five new models to increase sales by 7.7 percent to 645,320 units.

In Mexico, surpassing last year's Nissan's results for the second consecutive year and, from 189 518 units. Among the ten best selling models in Mexico, four Nissan vehicles. In Europe, Nissan reached a market share of 3.1 percent, the best figure since 1995. Overall sales rose 13 percent to 555 924 vehicles.
