Getting married in 75 Chrysler Al Capone? Yes, we can

From Chicago to Bovell (near Brescia), passing through New York, Catania and Padova is not the path to a new race car, but the steps along the path followed by the Chrysler 75, 1928 that was owned by Al Capone, the famous boss of the '30s Chicago. The owner today, Paolo Mazzoldi, loving care car historically belonged to the "boss of bosses" and now no longer uses it to escape from police in the era of Prohibition, but to accompany the bride and groom at weddings.

The history of this vehicle from 2.5 tonnes, 4,000 cc and maximum speed of 120 km / h or 75 miles per hour (hence the name "75") starts like this in the hands of the then 29 year-old Italian-American Al, who used to a couple of years until his arrest on tax evasion charges in 1931. In these two years, in addition to covering a heinous crime, the gangsters also taken a violation that was found intact in the door several decades later (which is also proof that the car was owned by him).

During the war, when the now former boss had been released from Alcatraz and was no longer able to take up the reins of its activities, the 75 Chrysler was sold at an auction in New York. The buyer, an Englishman, presented it to his beloved who lived in Catania, which in turn sold it to a Brescia a few years later, it is perhaps not suitable for a lady.

But there's more: after qulche years, the buyer puts it on sale at the fair in Padua, where she was noticed by the owner, then furniture that still has today: bright, tidy and fully functional. The fine for no parking, however, no one knows anything. With modern computer technology of today, could also get a payment order after a good 81 years ...
