Electra: the minicar with batteries

Delleminicar The world does not stop in the face of controversy but is always ahead. Thanks to the collaboration between Energy Resources, WT Motors and the Pole of Sustainable Mobility of the Faculty of Engineering of Rome come to life Electra, the first electric minicar. The stated objectives of the study team are two: create a square loop with zero emissions, and exceed safety levels on the small cars currently on the market.

Safety questioned after fatal accidents in recent times. The first step then is to study a structure that can guarantee an optimal energy absorption for the front and rear of the vehicle, so as to ensure greater protection to occupants in the event of a collision. Another focal point is the weight distribution, thus making the car as stable as possible.

Thanks to the adoption of electric propulsion engineers can choose the ideal location for the battery pack, in this case the platform, thus lowering the center of gravity. The plants can have two different configurations: one with front-wheel drive and electric motor 4 kW, the second-wheel-drive, obtained by fitting a second electric motor 8 KW at rear axle.

The range is about 140 km, more than enough for a device designed solely to urban mobility. The first working prototype of electricity should come from road to next summer, along with trade agreements for the supply of electricity charging stations through public and private.
