Lamborghini Murcielago successor equips with pushrod suspension

The new 515 kW / 700 hp V12-powered sports car, the Lamborghini shows a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show (1st-03.13.2011) will be equipped with a pushrod suspension and damping according to the principle. The system is inspired by Formula 1. The borrowed from motorsport technology promises perfect chassis balance and precise steering.

The spring / damper element is the Murcielago's successor, not the wheel, but mounted on the inside of the body structure. They are positioned horizontally under the front windshield, rear near the engine. Push Rod (pushrods) and rocker transmit the forces from the wheel carrier to the elements of the suspension and damping.

The combination of double-wishbone and pushrod design wheel control and damping are separated. At the front the Öhlins shock absorbers are equipped with a hydraulic lifting system, enables the front of the super sports car can be a button raise by 40 millimeters, making it easier to overcome small obstacles.

The suspension including upper and lower control arms, the wheel or lever, made of forged aluminum alloys. The large brake discs made from carbon fiber ceramic composite. At the front ventilated discs measure 400 millimeters in diameter, the braking forces are applied by a six-piston caliper.

The rear axle is still at least 380 mm discs are used in combination with a four-piston caliper. The parking brake is operated with the new Lamborghini flagship electric. The characteristics of the Servotronic steering system can be set as part of the "Drive Select" package to suit the driver in three stages.
