A new diesel for the Mazda5

Recently launched the new Mazda5 is now also available with a new common rail diesel engine, 1.6 liters, a powerful turbo, Euro 5, the low capacity but especially with low CO2 emissions and fuel economy: indeed get environmental performance and fuel economy was the goal on which Mazda has also pointed to the adoption of 2-liter gasoline engine with direct injection and fitted with the stop.

The configuration of the new common rail 1.6-liter aluminum crankcase and gearbox combined with a compact and lightweight, made it possible to decrease the weight of 120 kg of the new Mazda5, another factor that has contributed to wing reduction in consumption. The power is 115 horsepower, 5 more horsepower than the 2-liter version it replaces, with lower consumption of 14.8 per cent (5.2 liters per 100 km) and CO2 emissions reduced by 13.2 per percent, to 138 g / km.

The new variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) allows the engine to make available a maximum torque of 270 Nm at a broader system of torque (between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm). Mazda 5 has a top speed of 180 km / h in sixth gear. The new Mazda5 also adopts a diesel particulate filter system (DPF) maintenance-free.

An oxidation catalyst can increase the temperature of exhaust gas and improve the combustion of the particulates. Has also been improved accuracy using new injection system with piezo injectors.
