Pagani Huayra: faster than the wind

We thought of having to wait more, and instead we can already see the first official images of the Pagani Huayra, the new creature of the Modenese manufacturer Horacio Pagani. The Huayra (which takes its name from Huayra Tata, the population of the Aymara god of wind) takes the place of the Zonda supercar and it replaces it takes some stylistic elements, such as bi-xenon headlights (from Zonda R) and the four terminal drain embedded in a circular element.

The overall look is quite similar, even if the changes are there. The car is the result of 7 years of research and refinement, which led to exaggerated obtain a supercar, with a low aerodynamic drag and performance scream. Analyze them in order. The Pagani Huayra adopts new central monocoque carbon-titanium, which allows you to have a low weight and high rigidity.

Other solutions, always in view of weight reduction were related to the cooling system and air conditioning ducts, integrated into the structure of the monocoque, thus making unnecessary the inclusion of additional components. Also the new semi-chrome-moly frames provide excellent stiffness without increasing the total weight.

Thanks to such solutions to Huayra weighs 1350 kg, a record for the segment. The aerodynamic efficiency is ensured by four flap placed at the ends and controlled by an ECU that receives and analyzes information on speed, roll, braking and other parameters, acting in order to get a car from neutral behavior in all conditions.

As for the engine, the heart of Modena supercar, the House renewed the partnership with Mercedes-AMG has provided a 6-liter V12 biturbo engine with a power of 700 hp and a torque of more than 1000 Nm. All the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed sequential gearbox cross to double clutch.

The numbers speak for themselves: maximum speed exceeding 370 km / h, while acceleration we know nothing, but the classic 0-100 should be covered in less than 3 seconds. To access the cockpit should raise the spectacular opening doors gullwing, and inside you are surrounded by an atmosphere racing (change with steering wheel paddles, aluminum, contoured seats, instrumentation circular), enriched with skin profusion, a steering wheel with controls for the infotainment system, aluminum instrument panel dominated by a large central display multi-touch function through which you control the audio system, navigation system, telephone, Bluetooth and much more.

The House also provides a good supply of safety devices, both active and passive. Now we could see the Pagani Huayra in stock, we just have to wait until March 3, when the opening of the Geneva Motor Show, the Modena supercar will be there waiting for us.
