Smart, Tour of Italy with zero emissions

He left Milan on 14 January, the Smart Electric Drive Roadshow, the long demonstration tour to Italy built by Daimler to promote the Smart Fortwo ED. In addition to touch the battery-powered two-seater, the Smart Visitors Center that will host the tour stops will have the opportunity to experience the city cars and have detailed information on technical and commercial future of zero-emission mobility.

Continue the journey from Milan to other cities in Northern Italy, down to the center and south of the country in spring and in the islands in late 2011. Overall, the roadshow will touch 60 cities in all regions covering about 16,000 km on the road with savings, say the makers of Smart, approximately 1.4 tons of CO2, we might add, considerable amounts of pollutants such as particulate matter and carbon monoxide.

The tour also will take part in the Euro 5 Mercedes Sprinter with BlueEFFICIENCY technology that would guarantee fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions 20% lower than a traditional truck. The roadshow is part of drive initiatives in order to publicize the Smart ED, a model that is gaining much interest.

Confirmation of reservations are definitely over-subscription (100 cars between Pisa, Rome and Milan) to the project e-mobility made with Enel and more than 5,000 users who have tried the Fortwo electric drive during the events of the past.
