SLC K300, the microcar carbon fiber

The website presents its manufacturer as "the safest in its class minicar," perhaps in response to the many controversies that are sometimes seen on the security object vehicles of this type. But of course, the SLC K300 is no lack of content of some interest. The two-seat microcar of ATR, a company specializing in the manufacture of composite fibers, is only eight feet long and has a total weight of 300 kilograms, but its peculiarity, perhaps in part that justifies the price of 20,000 €, is to be made of carbon fiber.

ATR engineers have in fact used this material for the construction of the chassis, body and even the interior. A choice that makes this a small car model in some ways "sport", according to the union that binds strongly to the carbon fiber production of components for racing cars, or at least for cars category with distinct characteristics sports.

The reference to the racing world is wanted and is invoked both in materials and some solutions found by ATR Group for the SLC K300. The shell is reinforced with a lot of fact-roll bars and anti roll-over the same frame is a safety cell made entirely of carbon, which ensures lightness but also a great strength.

Are made of carbon kevlar front guards, and there inside the steering wheel and sports seats with ergonomic shape and padding to the islands. The low center of gravity helps promote the handling and stability, while the gasoline engine is a single-cylinder four-stroke 383 cc engine positioned at the rear and mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission CVT.

In addition, ATR are know to be working on a hybrid version. The range is available in three versions divided between Sporting, clear connotation of sports thanks to the many details "racing" scattered in the cockpit, City, more elegant version of which cards are the wide range of customized selection of colors, drawing on thick and open doors to elytra, in addition to Nautical Tender, fitting that, as the name implies, a nod to the nautical world.

Only "limit" is perhaps the price: 20,000 € for a car of this type can also appear a bit 'out of the market, but the SLC K300, which can be driven in 16 years by those who have obtained a license A1, is focusing on sympathy , versatility and above all safety.
