Volkswagen celebrates record production in Saxony

Volkswagen in Saxony in 2010 as many cars as never before produced: Total ran last year around 250 000 vehicles and 650 000 engines at the plants in Zwickau and Chemnitz from the tape. For this year, a further increase in production is expected in all the company's businesses. The diesel engines that were built exclusively for the North American market, made as in the previous year from around 12 percent of total production. Since starting production in 1990, VW has been produced in Saxony, a total of around 3.7 million vehicles, nearly 10 million engines and 4.3 million balance shaft gears for engines.
