Volkswagen in Saxony in 2010 as many cars as never before produced: Total ran last year around 250 000 vehicles and 650 000 engines at the plants in Zwickau and Chemnitz from the tape. With around 184 000 and about 66 000 Golf Passat was the production of the Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH in the period 2010 well above the previous year, in the 212 000 cars were built.The number of produced doubled Phaeton and Bentley bodies in comparison to 2009 to around 12 000 units. The diesel engines that were built exclusively for the North American market, made as in the previous year from around 12 percent of total production. Since starting production in 1990, VW has been produced in Saxony, a total of around 3.7 million vehicles, nearly 10 million engines and 4.3 million balance shaft gears for engines.
