Audi A1 Quattro Clubsport

Audi at Wörthersee Tour 2011 presents the A1 Clubsport Quattro concept, which anticipates the future sports version of the A1, which could take the name S1. Hardly, however, we will see on the model chosen for the road the engine concept: the small A1 is in fact installed the same 2.5-liter 5-cylinder Turbo RS3, prepared for the opportunity to develop 503 hp and 660 Nm of torque, available between 2500 and 5300 rpm.

This amazing result was achieved by changing Turbo, intercooler, intake and exhaust and its terminal is located near the left rear fender, in homage to the Audi A4 DTM. With the weight by 1300 kg, A1 Clubsport Quattro is capable of touching 100 km / h acceleration in 3.7 seconds and 200 km / h in 10.9 seconds, while the recovery from 80 to 120 km / h in fourth gear takes just 2.4 seconds.

The traction is guaranteed by the Four, ds derived from the TT RS combined with manual transmission, while the top speed is electronically governed to 250 km / h. The set is fully adjustable, while the carbon-ceramic disc brakes offer 6-piston front calipers. The 19-inch 255/30 tires the same house on two axes.

The body, painted in opaque Giacier White, offers the combination with strings of black and above is completed by the CFRP roof. The front bumper includes new air intakes in carbon fiber and air vents on the bonnet. The fenders have been widened by 60 mm, inspired by the shapes of the original Audi Quattro, while the mirrors are inspired by those of the R8.

At the rear you can see the spoiler with a double profile, combined with an extractor specific integrated into the bumper. The interior also features the lack of rear seats, replaced by a strut bar that stiffens the shell and a helmet. Was placed in the luggage compartment also lightweight racing battery to optimize the weight balance from the bridge and remove all the accessories and the system audio media, useless in the use to which the racing car is based.

The seats are those of the monocoque Audi R8 GT, supplemented by 4-point seat belts. In addition to the use of CFRP with a matte finish for many parts of the car, there is also adding three additional tools for analog control of oil pressure, turbo pressure and battery voltage.
