Ricardo and Lifan: soon a 1.2 turbo direct injection

The Chinese Lifan have secured the cooperation of English Ricardo (one of the biggest names in the world for providing expertise and technology in transport) for the construction of a new family of turbocharged petrol engines in a position to compete with Best Western proposals. Adherents to the latest dictates of the downsizing, the new units will be able to respond not only to Chinese regulations, but also to international restrictions in terms of fuel consumption and emissions.

Ricardo and Lifan, already five years ago formed a partnership first, to produce precision two direct-injection turbocharged 1.2 that promises a good compromise between performance, consumption, production costs and weight.
