There are solutions borrowed from the X6 ActiveHybrid, with which the hybrid variant of the X5 only shares the similarity, indeed, to be precise is already known that the hearts of these cars or their engines, will be completely different, in fact, while the X6 is equipped with a 4.4 liter engine with twin-turbo V8 architecture and gasoline engine, the X5 will instead under its hood a turbodiesel quadricilindrico assisted by an electric motor, thus becoming the first diesel-hybrid cars of the BMW brand.

Therefore it is assumed that the serial version, exactly the X5 ActiveHybrid, should not deviate much from these values.
