The racing version of McLaren's latest creation comes to light the surprising fact that reveals that its power will be lower than the street model. The price of the car, ready to compete, will be 349,140 euros. McLaren has given all the facts of the racing version of the new MP4-12C, which receives the name GT3.
This will include a 3.8-liter V8 engine whose power is 500 hp, a figure lower curiously at 100 hp at the engine's power from the standard model. However, this loss of power has been more than offset by the engineers of the British house with substantial aerodynamic improvements and a significant weight reduction.
This last point plays a fundamental role the new sequential gearbox six relations, which is 80 kg lighter than the gearbox seven-speed of the McLaren MP4-12C street. McLaren has also used his experience in Formula 1 to create this monster of the circuits, as can be seen in certain details of the steering wheel, seats and electronics.
This car will make its debut this season in certain careers, such as the 24 Hours of Spa or Blancpain Endurance Series, which will be held at the Circuit de Navarra. We may also see the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in the Goodwood Festival. It is from 2012 when the car is sold to private teams and popularize its presence in all paths of the world.
