In no parking due to accident: manslaughter

Be careful to park your car in no parking: do not risk more than just a fine but a charge of conspiring to manslaughter. This ruling represents a novelty in Italy as never before a motorist was convicted in a criminal court of a fatal car accident but was not present. A court in Milan, the first of its kind in Italy, has convicted three motorists for having caused the death of a motorcyclist on July 16, 2009: one of these three was driving a car that has not given priority the rider while the other two had parked their vehicle at the intersection in question, preventing a good view of the vehicles in transit.

And are therefore a crucial element in the dynamics of the accident. Important penalties provided by the court: 9 months for the person behind the wheel of the car in motion, 6 months for those who had left the car parked badly and indictments in the third person, whose responsibilities are concerned.

Clear words of the prosecutor, the judge made his: "The car was moving the view partially obstructed by parking illegally in a BMW X3 and a Kia Picanto, parked right next to the intersection of the streets." And thus violating Article 158 of the Highway Code on the prohibition of parking, which requires making sure that you must park their vehicles is not a danger to the safety of persons.
