Mercedes AMG 44 years of history in a video

Summarize a long story 44 years in just 5 minutes and 46 seconds is definitely not that simple, but creative people who worked on the movie self-celebration of AMG, the Mercedes division that deals to develop models with a sporting group, there are succeeded in full. The video starts since 1967, when Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher founded his own company in the town of Großaspach (from the initials of the founders and that of the city's name was born the abbreviation AMG), continued in memory of the early successes in track, as that obtained in 1971 from the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG on the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, while the 1978 transfer of the headquarters in Affalterbach.

In the late 80's comes the partnership with Mercedes in motor sport and in 1993 was the first car produced in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, the C 63 AMG. In 1998 he started the victory of the FIA-GT, while a year later founded the Mercedes AMG GmbH, the new company formed by the acquisition of AMG from Mercedes, which is, as already mentioned, the division devoted to the creation of versions performance of its cars.

Between the opening of its first showroom in 2002, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding 35simo, and the opening of the AMG Performance Studio in 2006, one arrives today with a special emphasis on the many victories in motorsport, particularly in DTM. They also remember some of the more significant in recent years, as the CL 65 AMG "40th Anniversary", arrived in 2007 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of AMG, the SL 63 AMG and the following year, the E 63 AMG with its award-winning 6.3-liter V8 as the "Engine of the Year 2009" and the SLS AMG, presented in the same year and became the vehicle selected as Safety Car in Formula 1 for the 2010 season.

A look at the future comes with the presentation of the project SLS AMG E-Cell, while perhaps more traditional, but certainly not uninteresting, the new CL 63 AMG, which with its twin-turbo V8 continues the tradition of a brand that excite sign of elegance and high performance, without ever altering the nature of each model that passes through the hands of AMG engineers.
