Presents the 2011 Mercedes E-Class, an update that affects mainly the engines and transmissions in order to optimize fuel consumption and emissions. The range of petrol engines can now rely on technology for BlueDIRECT INJECTION Direct for E350 and E500 V6 BlueEFFICIENCY BlueEFFICIENCY V8, while 4-cylinder is extended to the availability of the PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission with steering wheel and switch to the system start- Stop, now features a new torque converter, an ECO mode for change and a new oil pump for the management of the system in combination with the start-stop.
This technology will be offered as standard on versions BluEFFICIENCY E250, E350, E500, E200 CDI, E220 CDI and E250 CDI. The E-Class model year 2011 have undergone a slight modification to the bridge, because the instrumentation is now complemented by a color TFT screen with new features.
The E350's 3.5-liter V6 306 hp share touches and says the average consumption of 6.8 l/100 km and emissions of 159-164 g / km of CO2, reaching 100 km / h acceleration in 6.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 250 km / h. The E500 V8 instead adopt the 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 already seen in other models of the house, capable of 408 hp and 600 Nm of torque: consumption amounted to 8.9 l/100 km and 100 km / h are achieved in 5.2 seconds with a maximum speed of 250 km / h.
Implementation of Start-Stop system has led to a reduction in consumption for the diesel versions: the E 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 170 hp now declares 5.0 l/100 km and 129 g / km with a manual gearbox, which fall to 4 , 9 l/100 km with an automatic transmission, while the E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY says 204 hp 5.3 l/100 km and 138 g / km with the automatic only.
The smallest E 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 136 hp manual touches share 5.1 l/100 km. The 4-cylinder petrol models suffer atrettanti improvements: the E 200 BlueEFFICIENCY 184 hp 7.1 l/100 km and declares 169 g / km of CO2 with manual and 6.5 l/100 km and 152 g / km of CO2 the automatic, while the E 250 BlueEFFICIENCY 204 hp with the automatic only does not go over 6.6 l/100 km and 154 g / km.
Confirmed in the 2011 range including the E 200 NGT BlueEFFICIENCY bifuel 163 hp, with 3 tanks of gas for a total of 19.5 kg and an average consumption of 5.5 l/100 km declared and 149 g / km of CO2, which rising to 8.1 l/100 km using only gasoline.
