Mercedes has upgraded the engine range of Class E, for this one incorporating a number of engines that, despite their numbers increase power and performance, improve their levels of consumption and efficiency. Mercedes not to be renewed, and the proof is a complete update of all other E-Class Mercedes.
The first model to receive changes is the 350 BlueEFFICIENCY, which incorporates a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 306 hp atmospheric and 37.76 mkg compared with 292 hp and 37.24 Nm of his predecessor. It also introduces the third generation of direct injection BlueDIRECT, which together with the 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox and the ECO system produces a saving of 20% over the previous technology, leaving the average consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
With this engine the Mercedes 350 BlueEFFICIENCY accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds and achieves a top speed of 250 km / h, electronically limited. In the 220 and 250 CDI Mercedes appears ECO function associated with the gearbox 7G-Tronic. With this technology, these models are Mercedes as a saving of 16% as far as regards consumption and emissions compared to versions with manual gearbox with six gears.
Moreover, the Mercedes E 500 incorporates the new engine turbo 4.6-liter V8, whose power reaches up to 408 hp, with maximum torque of 41.63 Nm. These figures represent an increase of 20 hp over the previous 5.4-liter engine, in spite of which consumption drops from 10.8 to 8.9 liters per 100 kilometers.
However, the most significant development comes with the release of version E 200 NGT, which has two natural gas tanks with a capacity of 19.5 kg. One of these deposits are located behind the rear seat backs, while the latter is positioned just below the trunk. This new engine technology uses the E 200 BlueEFFICIENCY, which is rated at 163 hp.
While consumption is driven by natural gas is 5.5 kg los100 kilometers, which means emissions of 149 g / km.
