After almost abandoned by General Motors, which is tied up since the '30s, Opel wants to re-launch and for this she needs to aim for ambitious goals. So strong had with the Insignia of the excellent feedback and interest from the date Ampera, the Rüsselsheim is preparing plans for the coming years they see a much more complete and offer the best able to cover all the needs of key markets in which the German models disembark.

It is no coincidence that among the models just mentioned are just the Insignia and Ampera, because just these two Opel is planning to go to extend their range. As for the sedan, the leaders of the group they're going to go a little 'further, so as to evaluate the launch of a high-end model that fits in the segment immediately above that of the Insignia going to attract a clientele so far not fully achieved by the offer.

The entries indicate the possibility that this is a crossover, which could reach the market within the next 4 or 5 years. As for the Ampera, however, the plans are exactly the opposite, namely to support link to the electric extended-range already presented to the public on several occasions a smaller model, a "sister" that would address the interests of a client of the advantages of electric propulsion, but in an enclosed car body more compact and suitable for the city.

It would also, according to rumors, an electric model only, which should arrive in 2013. With the expansion of its Opel thus seeks to expand its presence in markets other than Europe, with a particular focus on those markets in developing countries that seem to become a sort of "El Dorado" in the car next year
