In the U.S., General Electric is working to test a new solar power station designed specifically to recharge the electric cars of the future. For now a new "carport" experimental (neologism formed from the English words car and port) is being tested in the town of Plainville (Connecticut) not far from a branch of the U.S..
The designers have made it known that, at present, this station can recharge the car at a rate of 4-6 at a time and can produce energy equivalent of 20 annual all'fabbisogno homes. If not work as intended in the engineering, General Electric could extend the program to the entire country, whereas in the more sunlight, such as Arizona, the power may be higher.
"We're working hard on solar energy," said Mark Little, director of global research for General Electric. "If we were able to lower its prices to achieve the cost to the consumer of 15 cents per kW, it would be a success."
