Acura celebrates 25 years in the U.S.

Acura celebrated this month in the first 25 years of business in the United States. Founded back in 1986 as a brand of luxury brand Honda, Acura was the first Japanese car manufacturer designed specifically to try to conquer the American market for premium cars and sports, an example followed shortly after by Toyota who coined the brand Lexus and Nissan Infiniti that he founded.

The first models to be marketed in the U.S. were already on other international markets such as the flagship Honda Legend and Integra, followed some years later by the sporty NSX, all remarkable for the occasion with the Acura brand has trimmings more refined and luxurious than the sisters who sported the symbol of the House wing.

To provide an adequate network of sales and servicing were opened over 60 new dealers scattered across the United States. After a few years, Acura became very popular in the USA and Canada thanks to the success of some models such as the aforementioned symbol NSX and to further increase its visibility, the Acura brand was also used for a variety of motor racing such as IMSA Championship and in some endurance race like the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Today, Acura is a brand in full swing in America and has recently launched two new models: the TL and TSX Sport Wagon. Now in its fourth generation, the Acura TL is a sports sedan that boasts among its best qualities an emphasis on luxury and minute details, but at the same time can offer an engaging and sporty driving, donated by the powerful engines and technology solutions first level.

The Japanese four-door is available with two V6 petrol engine coupled to a rear wheel drive. The first engine is a 3.5-liter, 280 hp and 254 Nm of torque, managed by the call Sportshift automatic transmission, equipped with six gears and sequential function with steering wheel controls.

A step above you place the 3.7-liter V6 with 305 hp and 273 Nm of torque combined with the dynamic device in the SH-AWD that fast and challenging corners automatically transfer torque to the outer rear wheel, maximizing the agility of the car. The second proposal this year is called instead of the brand Acura TSX Sport Wagon and its official debut at the next exhibition in New York, where the public can see live for the first time.

Featuring a sleek line and aggressive, the TSX will try to gain a significant market share by focusing on sports facilities combined with the versatility and comfort of a generous Station Wagon. The Acura TSX is powered by the 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC coupled to the now-classic sequential automatic transmission with SPORTSHIFT steering wheel controls.
