Fiat's new partner in Russia will Derways?

After seeing the jump agreement with Sollers, who eventually was granted by the Americans of Ford, Fiat is still looking for a partner on Russian soil, where the Italian house was going to build at least 300,000 vehicles: a target ambitious, of course, can not do without the help of a large local group, with a sound knowledge of the local labor market and the automotive sector in particular.

Thus, according to a Russian newspaper revealed today, Fiat is considering the possibility of approaching the Derways, a company that already produces about 100,000 cars a year in partnership with the Chinese Lifan and Liaoning, and which is controlled 51% of capital from Sberbank. And the Russian bank, the main town, is, according to reports, the proponent of the contacts with the Lingotto, strongly interested in the closure of a strategic agreement considered crucial for market penetration in Europe, where Fiat would bring a range of models ranging from sedans to high-end media and some light commercial vehicles, passing some crossover models.

The Russian campaign of Fiat, however, is anything but simple, as other voices from Sberbank would indicate the bank in talks with General Motors and Kia. This is something that opens a big question on the assumption of an agreement with Fiat, especially in light of the times that are advertised very narrow: whether any foreign partners will take advantage of tax benefits secured by the Russian government will in fact act by April, months within which the business plan will be presented the result of any agreement.
