Volvo manages up to 1,200 new jobs

Volvo wants to create in the next twelve months up to 1,200 new jobs. They should occur, especially in the areas of research and development. There, engineers are looking for, who bring with them expertise in the field of electric vehicles. Volvo plans for the second half of 2012 in the form of the V60 the first plug-in hybrid with a diesel engine.

In addition, new employees for purchasing, marketing and IT are being sought. In the area of manufacturing, new employees are hired in order to realize the already planned for 2011 growth. For the production plant in Ghent, Belgium, new record numbers expected and the Swedish Torslanda to the production volume will be increased to meet the growing demand.

Last year, Volvo increased compared with 2009 worldwide sales of 11.6 percent. In Sweden, up to 1,000 additional employees are hired, including 900 engineers, mainly for product development. The other 200 employees will increase the production site of Ghent. (Ampnet / jri)
