Ford Mad Max Concept: from cinema to reality

To celebrate the cult film Mad Max, Ford Australia in collaboration with the British magazine Top Gear have created two fanciful rendering that recall the futuristic V8 Interceptor (Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe amended), the legendary car used by a young Mel Gibson in the world eponymous post-apocalyptic film 32 years ago.

The two concepts are developed by designer Nima Nourian and Simon Brook team who have worked nell'affiatato Ford Research Centre in Melbourne, led by Chris Svensson, Australia Design Director. "Our team was very excited to be involved in this project, all have worked countless hours with great enthusiasm, even those who were too young to remember the first movie Mad Max," said Svensson, who added: "We had a special screening of the original film so that everyone could understand the spirit of the film and its secrets.

" Both feature a custom-look "menacing" enhanced by the enormous wheel arches that house the large alloy wheels, black and extremely high belt line that ends in the small cabin that can accommodate two people. On the two prototypes of course could not miss the many weapons used by the protagonist of the film during its raids in the dryness of the Australian desert, such as the taser electric mounted inside the front grille or the spokes of the wheels can be off the road by any other means .

Readers of TopGear Australia will be asked to vote one of two cars, the winner will be made to scale and presented as official by the end of this year.
