Chrysler: first quarterly net profit after bankruptcy controlled

Chrysler announced today that it has scored in the first quarter of 2011 its first net profit since June 2009, when the company resumed regular activities after leaving the bankrupt subsidiary. As a result, net profit was 116 million dollars, whereas last year during the same period the losses had reached 197 million.

Even data on operating income, increased from 143 million in the first quarter of 2010 to 477 million today, are clearly improving. And the discussion is also valid for the revenues, which grew by 35% in a year, rising 9.7000000000-13.1000000000 dollars. At March 31, Chrysler's liquidity amounted to 9.9 billion, also up by 7.4 of December 31, 2010.

These are the words of Sergio Marchionne: "The first quarter performance shows that our range is getting younger in the market. These results are testimony to the hard work of self and of our employees, suppliers and dealers, who helped Chrysler to create a new corporate culture built on quality and sound and simple principles of management.

Now we are focused to deliver great products to our customers and achieve the targets set in the 2010-2014 business plan. "
