Citroën presented at the week's "Tuning World Bodensee" (to May 8, 2011) in Friedrichshafen, near the special model refined by Carlsson C5 and the 207-hp Racing is the race car DS3 DS3 R3. The DS4, the youngest scion of Citroën, and a DS3 and a C3 Picasso complement the brand's presentation in Hall B5, Stand 503rd The Citroën DS3 R3 has been developed as a customer racing car.
It is based on the new regulations R3T the group, which was adopted by the International Automobile Federation, FIA and takes over the architecture and appearance of the standard model. The original passenger compartment is reinforced by a steel roll cage mehrpunktverschweissten that the rigidity of the chassis and the security guarantees of the inmates.
Under the hood lies a four-cylinder 1.6 THP (Turbo High Pressure), which was developed on the basis of PSA-series engine. The use of racing components (air chamber, camshaft, pistons, connecting rods, exhaust and turbo system, electronic control) provides a power boost to 210 hp. The engine offers 350 Nm, a large torque.
As with the C4 WRC, the six-speed transmission with sequential shift option is controlled electronically. This provides twice as fast gear changes as with a mechanical gearbox. The chassis was designed for use on any terrain, from gravel to asphalt, and is also based on the latest technologies.
Many adjustments are available and allow to tune the performance of the DS3 R3 on every style. The DS3 R3 has been designed with standard components and racing parts and is sold by Citroen Racing as a kit or as a race-ready vehicle. (Ampnet / jri)
