Ford Fiesta ST: at school by Focus

Soon the OPC Opel Corsa, Renault Clio RS and the other small sport should prepare for the "spicy" Ford Fiesta ST (Sports Technology), version "racing" utilitarianism Blue Oval, waiting on the international markets by next year. The first image shows a branched network rendering of the more casual of the Ford Fiesta, clearly inspired by the aesthetics - from gold livery - the Focus ST elder sister, she also expected in 2012.

Aesthetically, the part that immediately strikes the eye is definitely the big mouth from the trapezoidal shape positioned at the center of the bumper and grille features a honeycomb. At the bottom of the bumper fascia are the aerodynamic splitter that incorporates a grid with chrome strips positioned between the two fog lamps from the circular shape.

The side view does not give up skirts and bronze alloy combined with high performance tires. A speech deserves the rear view that gains a huge fixed-wing that closely resembles that used on WRC Ford Fiesta used in the World Championship Rally. The interior will mirror the aggressiveness of the body with the adoption of high-containment sport seats made by Recaro, with a four-point safety belts, and steering wheel and shift knob have a specific design, as well as sports pedals made of aluminum .

Future Ford Fiesta ST should repeat at least 50 hp power supply from the previous version equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine capable of 150 hp. Ford's engineers have seen fit to make this new Fiesta ST, the most powerful engine ever produced by equipping the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with EcoBoost turbo compressor to reach a height of 200 hp.

Even if the manufacturer has left the official data on the performance, it is easy to imagine that future Focus ST can burn sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of between 220 and 230 km / h, taking into account aerodynamics very accurate. The abundant power will be discharged on the front wheels supported by a mechanical differential, while for the transmission will most likely opt for a classic six-speed manual instead of a sophisticated dual-clutch too which would increase the final price of the car.

The Fiesta ST will be presented officially at the Geneva Motor Show 2012, only to be sold starting next spring, coinciding with the first redesign of the Ford Fiesta.
