Kia pro_cee'd: a variant in the future to combat sports Golf GTI

The next generation of Kia pro_cee'd will host a sporty version in its range. What is actually a gap in providing a model that has the least sporty pretensions, will therefore be filled in the years to come. And the Koreans when they jump into a new adventure aimed straight at the big target: the objective of the new model will be to go to pound your feet to the queen of hot-hatch, the Golf GTI.

According to some inside sources revealed to Autocar, the pro_cee'd mount sports a new 1.6 direct injection turbo about 200 bhp. In the definition of the project was also designed with a larger 2.0 turbo, but then the smallest party in favor of unity has prevailed: while delivering a good dose of horsepower, the 1.6 definitely will ensure lower fuel consumption than any two liters.

For his part, the challenge against the German, the Kia will also have the advantage of the most competitive price. The new 1.6 turbo will even set them up on cee'd five-door, with a connotation of course, less performance oriented and more attentive to the fluidity and elasticity of driving.

The new Kia pro_cee'd should debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, a year and a half after the debut of the new five-door cee'd, which will be launched next March in Geneva to coincide with the variant family. The development plans of the Korean house, however, does not stop here: in September will be the commercial debut of the new Rio, and soon will be the turn of the Optima midsize sedan, which in a sense represents the final exams for manufacturer.

Expected in mid 2012, the three volumes will probably be the first Kia hybrid on the market, but the details on this variant are not yet known.
