Fisker: new investment to 100 million USD

The carmaker Fisker Automotive, known for the production of plug-in hybrid sports car, has just announced a new investment of approximately $ 100 million for production and development of new models. The money, whose source has not been officially announced, comes just a few days before the delivery of new cars to the first customers of the Finnish brand.

In particular, the Fisker Friday presented the new funds to the Securities and Exchange Commission (the Commission for the Securities and Exchange), the U.S. government agency responsible for supervising the stock exchange similar to the Italian Consob, to ensure an initial target of production of 3,000 units.

Already in March, however, the company announced a new round of investments totaling 190 million dollars, pushing the total capital to a figure of just over one billion dollars. The first car will be launched from Fisker hybrid saloon Karma luxury plug-in, originally scheduled in 2009 and cost nearly two more years for the development and design.

From the perspective of the engines, the Karma will be powered by two electric motors and motor Ecotec 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine and 265 horses. A total of 403 horses well will then be available to guarantee an acceleration from 0-100km / h in just 5.8 seconds and average fuel consumption of 2.4 litres/100km to.

The debut of the Karma should be in dealerships this month. The price for the base version has been set at € 95,000, while big on luxury "Eco Chic" € 115,000 will be needed. Later should then arrived the sports version "Eco Sport", made in convertible and coupe variants.
