Mercedes 2011: the new SLK emits 20% less CO2

The new 2011 Mercedes SLK has an important data to be analyzed: a quantity of CO2 in the atmosphere emits 20% lower than its previous version. This is a great victory for Mercedes and also a step which is to be optimistic for the future, as this 20% reduction does not apply strictly the discharge, but also the amount of CO2 produced in its life cycle, namely by the establishment production to destruction.

Speaking of the life cycle of the cars we understand why electric cars can not be defined more zero-emission cars, but have a reduced load of carbon dioxide due to their own production process. The new Mercedes SLK in your life consumes 4'100 liters of oil in less than the previous model, mainly due to reduced fuel consumption, which now stand 6.1 l/100 km on a good 24% less than 8, 0 l/100 km earlier.

But the Mercedes was not content to improve its SLK-level emissions and fuel consumption, but also at the structural level has clearly decided to use for 95% of the car body of recyclable materials. In the final show of the Mercedes ahead of its time, given that these percentages are in line with the directives that will take effect in 2015.

Other materials are raw materials of natural origin and covering a total mass of more than 8 kg, and 67% more than the previous model.
