Launched in April 2010, the Dacia Duster jeep has been sold so far in 127mila units worldwide, but has also competed in sports companies such as Andros Trophy ice and the Rally Aïcha des Gazelles. The next challenge is the official participation at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to be held in Colorado (USA) on 26 June.

The prototype, which will start with pilot Jean-Philippe Dayraut a vehicle is really unusual, extreme performance. Dacia Duster is called "No Limit" and was prepared "to measure" team from Tork Engineering (design, manufacture, assembly and development) and Sodemare (engine), backed up by Renault Sport Technologies, in addition to providing some components, has made available, throughout the project, its unique expertise in the field of motor sport.

Dacia Duster "No Limit" is designed in accordance with the technical regulations of the category "Unlimited": no limit on the power or capacity and total freedom in terms of weight, tires, transmission and aerodynamics. Under the skin of fiberglass, Dacia Duster "No Limit" hidden items like the engine from 850 hp to Sodemare prepared, based on the engine block 38 THE NISSAN VR (V6 3.8 l) Nissan GT-R.

This is associated with 6-speed sequential transmission Sadev, specially developed to take advantage of the power of the engine, allowing in parallel passages of rapid and accurate reporting. The solutions developed for aerodynamic Dacia Duster "No Limit" has been the subject of a specific development, validated in wind tunnel.

The frame is tubular, the suspension is a double triangle and the total weight of the car is only 950 kg. Jean-Philippe Dayraut long dreamed of participating in the Pikes Peak with an exceptional vehicle, and managed to convince the Dacia and Renault Sport Technologies team to embark with him on this extraordinary adventure.

The Pikes Peak is a race in which the drive is essential and where the grip varies along its path of 20 km, with a compound path to the paved road by 50% and 50% dirt. Jean-Philippe Dayraut, winner of six championships France Circuit (Super cars and Tourism), ace of the ice, triple winner and defending champion of the Andros Trophy, is the right man at the right place.

"For a driver - said Dayraut - taming a wild beast like that on a mountain road, on land and asphalt, in DERAPAGE to 200 km / h, is a dream that can only be achieved at Pikes Peak. I know of no other race in which could participate in such a vehicle. "
