According to the rumors appeared on the network, Porsche would be planning a new sports car called the 961 which should be based on the platform of the new 911. The German sports coupe will have a line and will be powered by a V8, backed by an electric motor, capable of developing about 600 hp. The release schedule would be 2013, but currently do not have precise information on the matter.
However, the story leads to the hypothesis that the next 911 may have V8 engines, certainly this is only a distant possibility, but if a reality would be another blow to the heart for the purists of the brand already orphaned by the air cooling. A 961 had already become part of the history of Porsche and took the forms from sensational 959.
The car, after three races, was over in the museum in Stuttgart, but now the German House has seen fit to present it again to dust off the code on a production model.
