Fiat-Suzuki agreement for use of the 1.6 Multijet

The interview recorded in recent weeks between the Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and five members of the Suzuki family (including chairman Osamu) has produced a partnership agreement for the use of the 1.6 Multijet engine, so that will be used by the Japanese manufacturer as 2013. The four-cylinder diesel will push a new and unknown model that will be produced at the plant in Esztergom Hungary.

The Automotive News says, recalling the already active ties between the two marks in the sharing of engines 1.3 and 2.0 Multijet and the production of the compact SUV Sedici/SX4. Just this car, launched in 2006, is the second half of the agreement: Osamu Suzuki Marchionne would propose to replicate the association, and thereby develop the next generation, again using a proven formula and safe custody.
