Almost exactly 15 years to the month after the start of production of the Porsche Boxster has been exceeded, together with its sister model, the Cayman mark of 300 000 vehicles built. 1993 Porsche showed a study on a classic mid-engine roadster at the Detroit Motor Show. The show car sat in the formal language of the 356 "no 1 "and the 550 Spyder. The overwhelming response from the public was the key for the series production of the Boxster.
The pilot program currently includes the four open variants Boxster, Boxster S, Boxster and Boxster S Black Edition Spyder. For this, the coupe Cayman, Cayman S, Cayman and Cayman S are Black Edition R. The range of engines of the two model ranges between 188 kW/255 PS and 243 kW/330 hp, the consumption to EU standard between 9.4 liters and 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
