BMW achieved record results in 2010

BMW has made in sales and net profit in the fiscal year set new records. Group sales climbed by 19.3 percent in 2010 to 60 477 million euros. The profit before tax increased to 4836 million €. Earnings before financial items rose to 5094 million €. Net income improved to € 3234 million. The dividend will be raised to 1.30 (previous year 0.30) per ordinary share and € 1.32 (0.32) euros per preferred share to a new high.

Deliveries of the BMW Group have developed last year with the second best sales result was also positive. Overall sales rose to 1,461,166 vehicles (+ 13.6%) of its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. In the automobile segment, sales increased by 23.8 percent to € 54 137 million. EBIT in the automotive segment increased to € 4355 million and profit before taxation of € 3887 million.

The EBIT margin in the Automobiles segment thus amounts to 8.0 percent. The BMW brand sales rose in the past fiscal year by 14.6 percent to 1,224,280 vehicles. Sales in the Financial Services segment increased by 5.2 percent to € 16 617 million. Earnings before taxes rose to € 1,214 million.
