The Bolloré electric car will be produced in Italy

Pininfarina has signed an agreement with Cecomp and the Bolloré Group to lease for the establishment of Bairo Canavese. Here, the two companies will produce electric vehicles designed to Autolib, the car sharing service desired by the City of Paris, which will start next October, not only in the French capital, but also in 40 other municipalities in the region of Ile-de-France.

The agreement, which will last until 31 December 2013 and has a total value of € DI14 million, involves the use of plant, equipment and facilities related thereto, including contracts with other utilities in the sector and, not least , the 57 workers employed in Bairo Canavese. But because of the electric car production in Italy for France? The reason is explained as electric cars that will be released by the plant will be derived directly from Pininfarina Bluecar, clean prototype presented in 2008 (the same year that Pininfarina has signed a joint venture with Bolloré Vehicules Electriques).

The Italian group had also said in the days scorsiche species in Italy the market for electric cars is still not mature. A touch of Italy and then in a foreign project that will see the creation of well 4 thousand units to power with the aim of introducing new concepts of urban mobility in a big city.
