Ecclestone: no to the 4-cylinder turbo in F1

No electric motors and no to new 4-cylinder turbo engine and not to the teams 'weak'. To say it is the owner of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, who has emphasized his position that would be dictated by economic issues: "I am totally against the coming - in 2013 - the small 4-cylinder turbo engines because we run the risk of making car racing on tracks which could be available to everyone and would not have anything special.

The consequence would be that the public disaffection with F1 and television would reverse and negate - or reduce - the contracts with the circuit and the stables. " Ecclestone has also made a suggestion that the world circuit, there are one or two teams - among the 12 total - which perhaps should not even be on the starting grid.

"I think 10 teams would be enough," he said. The reference may be a Virgin and HRT, which - in an idea shared by many - would move constantly throughout the season in the bottom of the standings. Jean Todt is not appropriate to close the gap that separates the Formula 1 circuit with the automotive sector, "royal", which in recent years has actually increased because of the frantic search for performance by manufacturers of cars.
